Who is he? Kary Mullis was a biochemist and Nobel laureate who is known for his work on the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique, which is a method used to amplify specific DNA sequences. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1993 for his development of PCR. Mullis was also known for his unconventional views and controversial statements on a variety of topics, including HIV/AIDS and climate change. He passed away in 2019.
