Russia's defence ministry says 89 of its servicemen died in a deadly Ukrainian missile strike on New Year's Day in the city of Makiivka, increasing the toll from its initial announcement of 63. It has blamed the illegal use of mobile phones by soldiers for the raid, but there is growing anger among some in Russia over perceived military incompetence.
