Biblical Warning. Hebrews, Beware of the Leaven. Pt. 4

Messiah gave us one of the most important warnings for these end times which is often overlooked. Beware of the leaven. Since it only takes a small amount of yeast or other leavening agents to transform an entire lump of dough, Messiah must mean that it takes only a little bit of what the Pharisees and Herod have to offer to ruin a person. We say "ruin" because Messiah is giving a warning statement and because leaven almost always represents sin in the New Testament; only Messiah's parable of the leaven uses leaven in a positive sense.

Unbelief in Messiah is the leaven of the Pharisees and Herod, unbelief motivated in part by fear of Roman reprisal against Israel if Yeshua/Jesus were acclaimed as Messiah. But their unbelief was ultimately due to their hard hearts leading to the curses of Deuteronomy. This was the greatest challenge for the people of Israel to stay free. From the doctrines of men which totally corrupts the Messiah’s message, ministry, and mandate.
