'ARE YOU HERE TO SERV EOR BE SERVED?'
TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11

INTRODUCTION: Tonight I want to preach on subject of servanthood. Also for the record, I don’t believe that you can truly serve God outside of the local NT church. Nor do I believe that you can truly serve God if you are not submitted to the program of that local NT church even if you are a member.So my question to you is …. Are you here to
serve? Or are you here to be served? Which camp do you fall in?

I. THE BELIEVER WHO SEEKS TO SERVE
A. IS UNSELFISH IN CAUSE
B. IS UNIFIED IN CONSENSUS

II. THE BELIEVER WHO SEEKS TO BE SERVED
A. PLACES EMPHASIS ON PROGRAMS
B. DOES ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE

III. CHRIST THE SERVANT
A. FORETOLD
B. DELCLARED
C. EXALTED

CONCLUSION: Jesus Christ is our ultimate example of what it means to be a servant. This required selfless obedience and self-sacrifice.
