NDP Opposition Deputy House Leader, and MLA for Regina University, Aleana Young told the house that indigenous and Métis communities were not consulted on the last minute amendments added to Bill C-21.

She also said that firearms are too important for livelihoods, for the security and protection of livestock, as well as a way of life for hunters and trappers in Saskatchewan, as well as the many legal gun owners, collectors, and other folks who have a right to their firearms.
