Dumbbell Straddle Lift Pulses

A straddle lift is a hybrid between a squat and a deadlift. Start in a sumo-type stance with the hips open and feet pointed out. Hold a dumbbell in both hands by the head of the dumbbell. Maintain an upright torso and perform pulses where the dumbbell almost hits the ground. Keep the range of motion short moving the hands slightly below and above the level of the knees. “Spread the floor” with your feet to engage more hips and glutes. Focus on remaining in constant tension here to pump up the glutes and lower body.
