Crunchy French Toast with Corn Flakes

3 large Eggs
1 cup Half and Half (I used almond milk)
3 tablespoons Granulated Sugar (I used raw organic sugar but any sweetener will do. Perhaps next time I’ll try honey)
1 tablespoons Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
4 very thick slices Challah or Brioche; about an inch thick
3 cup Cornflakes; crushed slightly
1 cup Almonds; chopped

Optional toppings: fresh strawberries, whipped cream or yogurt, confectioner’s sugar
