Evasive Maneuvers Are The Only Way Out Of THIS!

Riding a motorcycle on the highway can be intimidating for a beginner, but it doesn't have to be. To stay safe and make your ride as smooth as possible, there are a few things to keep in mind.

First, be sure to use your body position to your advantage. If you're riding a cruiser with no windshield, the wind can push you off to the side. To counteract this, stick your knee out and use it as a sail to catch the wind.

Next, choose the right lane. For most highways, the right lane has the biggest shoulder and allows you to have more room to maneuver.

When merging onto the highway, accelerate to get up to speed with the traffic flow. When you need to exit, use progressive braking. This is also known as trail breaking, and it helps make the transition from highway to off-ramp as smooth as possible.

To make sure you are comfortable riding on the highway, practice on a freeway or interstate with an on-ramp and off-ramp a mile apart. This will give you a chance to get used to the wind, merging, and exiting without going too.
