Two years later, this 15 year old girl was kidnapped
Police ignored the case for the parents until the pope mentioned it in a speech
Kidnappers gang-raped the girl
Secret service sends audio of the girl, but the police edit out the men speaking
Kidnappers want to negotiate release of the attempted assassin in exchange for the girl's release, but not with police, instead with the Vatican
Why did the police step back and let the Vatican handle it?

Does it almost seem like the police or the Vatican were involved somehow or is it just me? 🤔
