Matthew 2:1-12 - O Worship the King

The beginning of Matthew uses the narrative of Jesus' genealogy, birth, and childhood to introduce to Jesus, who Jesus truly is, so that Matthew might build the foundation for his gospel. In Matthew 2, we have a mysterious text about magi, or wise men, and a star, and gifts, that many have studied and speculated about, and often have gotten wrong. We must be cautious in our study, that we do not allow our curiosity about any text lead us to lose the true meaning of that text.
