This aired on the BBC on Whicker’s World. It is live footage of the GD playing The Golden
Road. It aired with the studio version overdubbed on it, giving the appearance that they were
lipsyncing it. It was supposedly filmed in San Francisco in March of 1967. We just so happen to
have audio of them performing The Golden Road on 3/18/67, and this audio mostly matches up
to the video. Sadly the beginning of the song is missing on the circulating sources, so 17
seconds of the only other live version of the song we have from 5/5/67 are used at the
beginning. While it may or may not be all from 3/18/67, it works better than having the album
version play over top of it.
