The Rollin White patent held a stranglehold on the firearms industry for quite a long time, and many interesting designs resulted as an attempt to work around their control of the "bored through cylinder" concept. In this video we take a brief look at the Slocum's "Side Loading" Revolver, which was manufactured for one year - 1864, but did see use as backup self defense weapon during the US Civil War.
