Combinations distract, occupy and soften.

Strikes, throws, submissions and manipulations all work better in combination.
“Set-up” your anticipated techniques.

As it is with the strikes, so it is with grappling that combinations achieve the best fighting result. By using Judo and wrestling combinations, the throws and submissions work best in opposite directions. A grappling combination uses the opponent’s response to the first technique, to create a vulnerable position for a planned next-attack in an opposite or different direction.

The fighting techniques may be used within the boundaries of any discipline alone, or combined to cross into other martial arts disciplines. For example, a combination may include punches only, or punches with kicks, or punches and kicks followed by a throw. The primary offensive strikes “set up” the concluding throw and vice versa.
