TALL v's SHORT

Primacy
One tends to learn and remember the first skills best.
Recency
There is a tendency to lean strongly on the most recent skills.
Even at the age of 60 and beyond, the skills first learnt remain sharp.
When learning begins with boxing, the foundation is set for all the other skill sets to be added. Neuromuscular pathways are the set for life with boxing strikes and fast reflex defences.
When tall versus short, the shorter fighter must negotiate and overcome distance. He enters and exploits the center and the flanks.
The taller fighter will attempt to keep his distance to engage long range weapons or, employ with elbows and knees depending on the rules of engagement.
