A Danish journalist covering the World Cup in Qatar is cut off live with threats to destroy cameras

Private security guards in Qatar forced a Danish reporter Rasmus Tantholdt off the air as he reported live from the World Cup.

Danish station TV2 said on its website:
“The team was bluntly told that if they didn’t stop filming, their cameras would be destroyed. This is despite the fact that TV2’s team has acquired the correct accreditations and reported from a public place.

A very good point made by the journalist - "You invited the whole world to come here, why can’t we film? It’s a public place"

I think an apology has since been issued by the Qatar World Cup tournament advisors, but this hardly seems like a good start.

What do you think?
