Origin:
Spinous Processes of C7 – T3

Insertion:
Ribs # 2 – 5 (Close to their Angle)

Functions:
Elevation of the Ribs #2 – 5 @ the Sternocostal and Costovertebral Joints

Nerve:
Intercostal Nerves (T2 – T5)

Activation: Take a deep breath in

Lengthening: Let the deep breath out

Serratus Posterior Inferior:
Origin:
Spinous Processes of T11 – L2

Insertion:
Inferior Borders and External Surfaces of Ribs #9 – 12

Functions:
Depression of the Ribs #9 – 12 @ the Sternocostal and Costovertebral Joints

Nerve:
Intercostal Nerves (T9 – T12)

Activation: Take a deep breath in
