In the video the final sandpaper grits that are 400 and 800. After the sanding is finished the board is carefully blown off with compressed air. After it is covered in a mixture of beeswax and mineral oil. The process of beeswax and mineral oil is repeated 3 times. All boards use food safe glue and need to be washed in warm water and dish soap. Then they are ready to use.
To make a cutting board there are many small steps that must be done to create a long-lasting board that resists rot and cracking. Oiling the board is the best part of the process. It shows the natural beauty of the wood and wakes up the colors of the epoxy.
