Nia (Purpose) is about the preservation of the African American and Pan-African historical identity and culture. Personal and Social Purpose is also part of the focus of Nia; with the concept that those in the community have a moral obligation to participate in creating an atmosphere of freedom and development of the people in it translating into a commitment and mission that both involves and benefits the community.
Nia is represented by the ancient Egyptian symbol of beauty and good known as the Heiroglyph Nefer.
