Ring-Billed Gull Landing on Water, Sony A1/Sony Alpha1, 4k

When gulls land on the water, they tend to glide down to a few inches above the surface and then do a sort of "belly flop." I am guessing they do this because they are used to landing in waves on the ocean, and you can't be too subtle or graceful when the distance to the water is constantly changing.

In any case, this particular gull was a little more graceful than usual and made a nice, smooth blue-water splash in golden light.
