Amazing Aurora - December 30, 2022

Thought we were done for the year but a Summer display of Aurora Australis, photographed from Oreti Beach, near Invercargill on the southern end of New Zealand.
Started photographing at approx 10:30pm NZDT and as the twilight faded the aurora became evident. Visible to the naked eye, although not in the colours that the long exposure shows. Was worried the clouds were going to spoil the show but they cleared and some time after midnight the activity went insane :) Ceased photographing at 4am New Years Eve as the coming dawn was washing out the ability to see the aurora.

Camera gear: Canon 6D, Samyang 14mm lens, Miops+.
