S’mores Toffee Graham Cracker Bars

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I taught Home Economics in a small private school for years. I used to have my students pick recipes and we would make them in class. They would sometimes make a recipe at home as homework and bring it to class to share. This is a recipe that one of my student's picked and it quickly became one of her signature recipes that people asked her to make. They are so simple yet so delicious. It has been over 10 years, but I believe the recipe came from a Taste of Home or Quick Cooking magazine. - Michele

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

1 pkg. honey graham crackers
14 oz. Hershey's chocolate bars
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips 
1 cup mini marshmallows 

Line pan with parchment paper and lay out graham crackers. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and butter and bring to a boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over graham crackers and bake 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and layer chocolate over warm bars. Melt then spread. 

S'more layer:
1/2 cup chocolate chips 
1 cup mini marshmallows
Sprinkle chocolate chips and marshmallows over the melted chocolate. 
Place back into the oven on broil for 1-2 minutes, just until marshmallows are toasted. Watch during this stage constantly to be careful not to burn or ruin the chocolate.
