The petting zoo

In the year 2115, the world had changed beyond recognition. People had developed the ability to time travel, artificial intelligence had become more advanced than human intelligence, and pets were now genetically engineered to have superpowers.

One day, a group of friends decided to go on a time travel adventure to visit the dinosaurs. They packed their bags, set their time machines, and stepped into the swirling vortex of time.

However, as they emerged in the Jurassic period, they realized that something had gone terribly wrong. They found themselves in the middle of a crowded petting zoo, surrounded by excited children and their genetically enhanced pets.

As it turned out, the friends had accidentally set their time machines to the wrong coordinates and ended up in the present day, not the past. They were now stuck in a petting zoo, surrounded by pets that could shoot laser beams out of their eyes and fly with their wings.

Panicked and embarrassed, the friends tried to sneak out of the petting zoo without attracting too much attention. They were almost out the door when they ran into the owner, who demanded to know how they had gotten into the restricted area.

The friends, realizing that they had no way to explain their time travel abilities, did the only thing they could think of: they broke into a synchronized dance routine, complete with flashy holographic costumes and laser light shows.

The petting zoo owner and the children were entranced by the friends' dance routine and soon joined in, dancing along to the futuristic beats. The pets, caught up in the excitement, flew around the room, adding to the chaos.

As the friends danced, they noticed that their time machines were glowing and beeping. They realized that the time vortex had reopened and they had a chance to escape.

Without missing a beat, the friends grabbed their time machines and danced their way out of the petting zoo. They jumped into the vortex, laughing and singing as they tumbled through time and space.

When they finally emerged on the other side, they found themselves back in their own time, relieved and exhilarated by their unexpected adventure. From then on, they made sure to triple check their time machine coordinates before setting off on any time travel adventures.
