“Your beauty haunts me in my sleep.”

“Your beauty haunts me in my sleep,” said Laurence Olivier in a Shakespeare movie I’m watching on HBO.

In my head I flashed to an image of the woman pictured above. I’m in love. She is directing the Danish orchestra.

I love her movements in the quick glimpses in the video clip above. I have more than once been in bed over the last week or so and found myself half asleep picturing this woman waving her wand to organize and direct all those musicians. I picture her on the dance floor in a dark club late at night. That smile and the look of satisfaction. I picture her at a cutting board, knife in hand, deftly slicing tomatoes.

I keep picturing her.

A while back one of my little ones came into a room and I had a picture from a magazine ad on a music stand with a pretty woman featured.

“See my new girlfriend,” I said, pointing to the glossy two page spread of a beauty.

“And where are you going to see her?” my young cynic responded.

“In a magazine.”

I get to see the woman above in pretty good high definition pixels. I am curious to see a performance where the god damned camera stays on her, or should I say I could monitor the feed that exists that is just her. I have zero desire to know her name, or, her backstory.

I like to see her, and I love her movements, I am drawn to the smile of delight on her face.

I find the performance magnificent, and she is at the center of it. Bravo!

To a lady who comes to me in the middle of the night… like a muse.
