Jesuits, Jews, and John’s Gospel

Recently the Jesuit-run magazine America argued that the Gospel of John should be dropped from the Church’s Good Friday liturgy for promoting anti-semitism. Is the problem the Gospel of John or the Jesuits? What should be the Catholic’s view toward the Jews?
