Thanks for tuning in for this second update of the day as I walk through the protest in Joinville in Santa Catarina state in southern Brazil once more on this Friday evening, and just 48 hours before the Squid is scheduled to assume the power of the presidency.

I start with the news that President Bolsonaro has left the country on the presidential plane and is bound for Florida. This comes after the plane already made one return trip to Orlando this week which sparked rumors around the country surrounding who was on-board.
I offer some speculation pertaining to why he is going to Florida and for how long he may stay, and wonder if we are heading for a showdown between Bolso's military and the Squid's law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Police. I offer this possible scenario after witnessing the Army protecting the campers and protesters in Brasília yesterday, and now today in Vila Velha Espirito Santo state.

We also continue to see military movement, this time again in Brasília with tanks moving along the streets.

I also reiterate some of the moves made by President Bolsonaro in the last month or so (decrees and orders, military build-up, changes to cabinet etc) and wonder why he would have taken these measures if he was vacating the presidency.

I then speak to a local business owner about how she feels after the president's speech and how she thinks the country in general feels.

Lastly, I walk the length of the protest, translating some of the chants as I go and showing that this crowd of Joinvillenses is not about to give up on this movement, already in its 59th day here in Joinville.
