A few notable events took place in 1985, 1986 and 1989. Following the takedown of 'PC' John rose to the head of the Gambino family. However, his time spent at the top came with a cost. The 'Teflon Don' would begin to alter his appearance, wearing expensive suits to court in order to gain the attention of the media and public alike. John began to believe that he was invincible, untouchable even, but the dirt that he'd ordered or been involved in was quickly becoming well documented by law enforcement.
