Mardi Gras King Cake Recipe

Because someone is going to bring this up, there is no plastic baby in this cake which is traditional. I didn't have one on hand and it's a choking hazard.

For the cake:
8 ounces Sour Cream (or plain yogurt)
1/4 cup (35 g) sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 (1/4 oz) envelope active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (100 – 110 degrees)
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 large egg, lightly beaten
3 to 3 /14 cups bread flour (all purpose flour may be used but will result in a more dense cake)

For Filling:
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1/4 cup (35 g) sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
