Meanwhile, it turns out that, to counteract proof the nation is in a recession, the Biden admin countered with claims to having created 1.1 million new jobs, but the real number was only 10,000. 2022 really was the year the conspiracy theories turned into conspiracy facts across the spectrum, where emphasis should be given to evidence over opinion, where the label has been used for too long to the detriment of clear thinking on the part of the public. A nice example has been the demonization of Ivermectin, which has been widely used for generations with great success and would have made a huge difference in coping with COVID--but Big Pharma had to attack it relentlessly to justify EUA for Pfizer and Moderna, which could not have been approved had there been an available, less intrusive alternative (which was true of both Ivermectin and HCQ). The Brunson case alleging that Congress failed its duty to investigate claims of election fraud before certifying the 2020 election has made its way to SCOTUS, where I suspect it will not emerge from the Conference on January 6th, alas, because its intentions are good. Disney seems to be learning, "Go Woke, Go Broke", which has been rather stunning but also richly deserved.
