Catherine the Great statue dismantled in Odesa

Ukrainians under the cover of night removed a statue of the 18th-century empress of Russia, Catherine the Great, in the southern city of Odesa on Wednesday (December 28), after a regional council passed a resolution to dismantle monuments symbolising Russia's imperial past.
