SNOW JOKE: Armoured Critical Incident Vehicle Used To Clear Streets By New York Cops

New York State police have found this armoured critical incident vehicle, known as the rook, is also the perfect thing to use when clearing streets after record snowfalls.

Up to 4 feet of snow falling has left many cars trapped on streets that cannot be cleared because the snow ploughs cannot move along them.

That's now been solved by the use of the rook, which is not only armour-plated with gun holds and bullet-proof glass covering but also has a handy forklift at the front that can even lift up lorries to drag them back to clear the road for the snowploughs.

They posted a short video of the rook in action with a note: "The ROOK is the perfect machine to clear vehicles or obstructions from the roadway, so they can be cleared by ploughs!"

The video shows the power device even lifting up into our cars and put in that side of the road as well as pulling large lorries backwards or removing vehicles from underneath a bridge.

In the last vehicle, it was noted that there was a bullet hole in the glass windscreen and the side panel had been broken, but police did not say what the circumstances were that led to the vehicle being abandoned.
