With a variety of minerals, Ukraine is one of the top raw mineral-producing nations in the world. About 5% of the world's mineral resources are found in Ukraine, which covers 0.4 percent of the planet's territory and has 0.8 percent of its population.

In Ukraine, there have been found to be more than 20,000 deposits and 200 different mineral forms. Of them, 7,807 deposits of 94 different mineral types are significant for the industry. In terms of iron, manganese, titanium-zirconium ores, and non-metallic raw resources, Ukraine is among the top countries in terms of reserves and extraction.

The most significant economic resources include coal, oil, natural gas, iron and manganese ores, native sulfur, rock and potassium salts, non-metallic building materials, and mineral waters.
