Harvey Glatman was an American serial killer active in the late 1950s. He was known as the "Lonely Hearts Killer" because he would lure his victims through personal ads in newspapers, pretending to be a photographer looking for models. Once he had his victims alone, he would bind, torture, and murder them, often taking photographs of the crime. Glatman was arrested in 1958 and later confessed to killing three women. He was found guilty and sentenced to death, and was executed by gas chamber in 1959. His case received widespread media attention at the time and has since been the subject of numerous books and films.
