Ian is best known for his role as Randy Parker in the 1983 comedy-drama film, A Christmas Story. He has also worked as a puppeteer in films such as The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), and Muppet Treasure Island (1996) & Meet the Ninja Turtles-Power Rangers Official (2019). Petrella has also provided voices for some films, including The Land Before Time (1988), The Brave Little Toaster (1987), and The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars (1998).
