Abie Hidary: Real Estate Development & Investment | Discovering Commercial Real Estate Podcast #12

Abie J. Hidary heads the privately held real estate investment and development firm that his father, Jack Hidary, founded in the 1970s and now chairs. He especially manages Hidrock's equity and debt financing.

Hidrock specializes in offices, residential properties and hotels in the New York City area, particularly Manhattan. Major properties include the office building at 240 West 35th Street; the hotel at 133 Greenwich Street; and the hotel-retail hybrid at 960 Sixth Avenue.

Under Hidary's leadership, Hidrock has closed almost $2 billion in acquisitions in every sector in the New York metropolitan market. Also under his leadership, the firm has intensified its focus on this metro market to the exclusion of ones farther afield. Hidrock works with institutional and private partners worldwide on such deals.

Hidary graduated with high honors from Yeshiva University's business school and is a member of the board of directors of the Garment District Alliance, a booster group for that slice of Manhattan.
