new Rescue Today

This dog was brought to our attention yesterday. He was living in a hole under a live fence and has been rained on since Saturday. He is hungry and cold. He has bad mange and extremely long deformed toe nails. Somebody tried to cure his mange by spreading burnt engine oil on him but it doesn't really work and can be toxic to the dog. He is a young male and left in the middle of nowhere with no hope of surviving. You can see the large bald patch on his back which covers large parts of his body. he is full of fleas and probably worms too. Tomorrow he will have a bath to get the engine oil off of him, have his toe nails cut, and be medicated for all the parasites he has. He is calm and wagged his tail just before rescue. He knew he was saved. he also wagged his tail again when we put him in the recovery area. this is him in the forest.
