SC8 Smart Contracts on Tau: Proof of Execution and Increased Computational Power #shorts

Q: What features can we expect from the smart contracts of the beta planned for Q1/2023?

A: Proof of Execution, so it is enough for one node to execute the contract and the rest of the nodes to get a short certificate of the correctness of execution. In contrast with the existing blockchains with smart contracts where all nodes have to execute all contracts, which is a big bottleneck for the computational capacity of the network. The computational capacity of the Ethereum network is precisely one home computer. The whole network, no matter how many nodes it has, it will still have the computational capacity of one home computer because all nodes do the same thing. The same computation is performed again and again! But once we have Proof of Execution, then with more nodes, the computational power of the network grows, because each node can execute different code and give cryptographic proof that the execution was correct.
