Clashes May Continue Between US and Russia - Russian Envoy Warns US

Russia's ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said relations between Moscow and Washington were entering an "ice age" and that there was a danger of clashes between the two countries. Antonov said the words in an interview with TASS on Friday after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Washington this week.
“Honestly, today it is difficult to say when this dialogue, the dialogue on strategic stability, can be resumed. No, it did not throw all NATO military-industrial equipment into Ukrainian territory to fight the Russian Federation, but the ambassador said that Washington did not consider diplomatic solutions to normalize bilateral relations. He stressed that he was not interested, but that he did not wish to completely sever their relationship. According to Antonov, the United States understands the consequences of overly harsh measures. The ambassador argued that the White House "needs this channel of communication with Russia to resolve other emerging issues, including the exchange of prisoners."
On Thursday, the Kremlin accused Washington of waging a proxy war against Russia. The statement is in addition to his $50 billion US aid package sent to Kyiv earlier this year.
It comes after the announcement of plans to provide billions of dollars worth of military equipment. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that military aid to Ukraine "would not help resolve any conflict in the near future" and would not prevent Russia from achieving its goals in the war in Ukraine.
