Washington State Consumer Protection Act, the Attorney General, and Bad Legislation

Today’s video addresses our Attorney General’s overreach into our daily lives by including Consumer Protection Act (CPA) in legislation he supports, like last year’s gun legislation. Including the CPA allows the AG to directly go after vendors, like Federal Way Discount Guns, for selling magazines in violation of Revised Code of Washington 9.41.370 without addressing whether the law is constitutional. By including a violation of the Consumer Protection Act in several pieces of legislation, the AG has created a direct path to infringe on business owners’ rights.
