What is the importance of the virgin birth?

This Christmas Sunday, we look at Matthew's account of the incarnation, mainly through the experience of Joseph. Matthew's account is teaching us so much more than just that Jesus came, rather he is teaching us that Jesus is very God, and that His coming is purposeful.
