China’s abandonment of Covid-Zero dismays “freedom loving leftists!”

ast week the New York Times ran a story about covid in China, headlined, “From Zero Covid to No Plan: Behind China’s Pandemic U-Turn.” The Times’ sub-headline bitterly lamented, “After micromanaging the coronavirus strategy for nearly three years, the country’s leader, Xi Jinping, has suddenly left the populace to improvise.”

I'll share some of my thoughts as well why this has The New York Times troubled.
