Sad Feelings of Christmas Blue

Christmas alone plunged me into gloom.
I lamented, "My Darling, Oh, how I miss you!"
Reminders of your recent death yet loom.
Candles illuminated sad expressions of blue.

Lights were dim, shaded with thoughts of old.
Multiple strands were but muted shades of blue.
Tarnished are ornaments of silver and gold.
There’s little to celebrate without plans new.

Such a sad time is a Blue Christmas Day,
since Jesus embraced your outstretched hand.
I speak to you in Heaven as I humbly pray,
picturing you in a mansion in Glory Land.

Empty rooms echo now with sounds lonely.
Absent are decorations of garland and bows.
Reflections I view in mirrors are of me only.
I shed tears of mourning as grief flows.

I’ve become known as a Maiden of Sorrows,
a mournful widow well acquainted with grief.
I pray that Jesus will brighten my 'morrows,
and these feelings of sadness will be brief!

Christmas was sad and blue without you!
