At least two dead, multiple wounded in shooting in Paris

Emergency services were deployed after multiple gunshots were fired in a central district of Paris, killing two people and injuring four others on Friday.

A 69-year-old man was detained and remains in custody, and an investigation into murder, manslaughter and aggravated violence has been opened, according to the prosecutor's office.

According to the prosecutor's office, the incident took place in the Rue d’Enghien, a street full of small businesses and cafes near a Kurdish cultural centre of the French capital.
