The Light Revealed

Jesus came to us in the flesh and is the light of the world. He tells us in John 8:12 that “whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

He made his light available to all of mankind yet many still walk in darkness. Some have chosen to not follow Jesus or they may not be aware of Jesus or they may be blinded by other beliefs or distractions in this world. But one day their eyes will be opened. They will see the light.

The Lord tells us in Isaiah 42:16
“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.”

All people and nations will come to the Light. They will see it. They will see the glory.

We read in Isaiah 60:2-3...
“See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”

And in Isaiah 40:5...
“The glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together”

They will come to Jesus and they will come to the New Jerusalem where there is no need for light because God and Jesus will provide the light.

Revelation 21:23 tells us that
“The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.”

Can you imagine the New Jerusalem illuminated and enveloped by the shining glory of God and Jesus? That light will contain a beauty and spectrum of light which mankind has never seen. We will be in awe just as those living in darkness will be in awe when they finally see the Light of Jesus.

As we await for that glorious day, let us pray for his quick return. As we read at the end of the bible in Revelation 22, verses 17 and 20:

“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes, take the free gift of the water of life…He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”
