Jellyfish are a type of invertebrate marine animal that belongs to the phylum Cnidaria, the jellyfish referred to here are animals from the Scypozoa class, so they are often called true jellyfish so as not to be confused with other animals which are also called jellyfish such as: Ctenophora and Cubozoa.
