COLD COMFORT: US Coast Guard Rescues Two Stranded Near Texas Port
A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Corpus Christi rescued two boaters who were stranded aboard a disabled pleasure craft in the vicinity of the jetties near a Texas port.
The footage was obtained by Newsflash from the US Coast Guard District 8, along with a statement according to which the rescue took place in Port O’Connor, USA, on 22nd December.
The two unnamed individuals were experiencing symptoms of hypothermia when they were rescued, according to the statement.
Their 21-foot pleasure craft reportedly became disabled in the vicinity of the Port O’Connor jetties.
The response boat turned up at the same time as a Sea Tow boat crew but was unable to reach the disabled vessel because of the shallow water and bad weather.
And the bad conditions included winds of up to 40 miles per hour which resulted in the helicopter being called in for aid.
The rescued pair were later taken to a local hospital.
The boaters are reportedly in stable condition.
