The protagonist of the show is a peculiar girl named Wednesday Addams.
After throwing live piranhas into the school pool while the boys' water polo
team was training in vengeance for the team tormenting Wednesday's brother Pugsley, Wednesday was expelled from her high school. This prompts her parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams, to enroll her at Vermont's Nevermore Academy, a school for monstrous outcasts that they also formerly attended. Wednesday struggles to connect with her classmates and runs afoul of the school's principal due to her cold, emotionless personality and belligerent disposition. She does, however, learn that she has psychic powers that enable her to solve a local murder mystery.
