Q: Is there a possibility that another project will be a userbase, for example, Bitcoin SV, Ethereum, Google, and Facebook will run off the Tauchain code and implement it into their own. This is in regards to being open source. Do we have any steps to prevent this?
A: For the competition part, usually stealing code and developing products based on existing technology and stealing them and trying to compete in the same market is usually simply not a good business plan. And because they need to invest in competing with someone who’s already a few steps ahead so it makes the whole business plan of stealing quite risky. In addition, in principle, people can copy only things that are visible so far but we have many more know how’s that are still not there. Even if they copy everything we have right now in code, they cannot copy the things that we didn’t code yet.
Of course absolute protection against copying is impossible but because of the reasons I mentioned and possibly more reasons I think, the risk is very low.
