Blessings and Responsibility
Deuteronomy 28

Obj: that the brethren may understand how the appreciate the blessings of God
by accepting the responsibility that goes with it.

Intro:
Define: Will, Hearken, Blessing, responsibility, curse
Background other chapter and book

How to Appreciate the Blessings:
1. Believe and Trust that the Lord will bless you – v.1 – “it shall come to pass”
a. Psalms 21:3, Ephesians 1:3, on Joseph sample
2. Note that Blessing are conditional – vv.1, 2, 9, 13, 15, 58
3. Be Thankful for the Blessings:
a. That they are comprehensive – vv. 3-13 – list of blessings
b. That they will Surely come – v. 2 – ‘overtake’
c. Be glad/joyful for the Abundance – v.47

How to Accept the Responsibilities:
1. Note that curses and punishment will come also in case of disobedience
a. vv. 15-68 – all curses – opposite of blessings
i. Joshua 8:34, Proverbs 10:6, Proverbs 28:20, Malachi 2:2
b. go through everything - One by one
2. Responsibility means that with all the blessings, we also have our part to do.
a. List of areas of responsibilities – work, family, love, friends, ministry
b. Personal - Matthew 12:36, Romans 14:12, 1Peter 4:5
c. To Others - Hebrews 13:17

Message/conclusion:
Let us appreciate the blessings and the giver of the blessings, the Lord God Himself.
Note also to follow and obey the Lord in all things as much we can, as early as we can
