The Emptying of Christ is something often misunderstood. It's understandable as the Incarnation is a unique event and one where analogy and metaphor fail earlier than in other times. And yet, we need to understand why Jesus doesn't just walk around and call things into being randomly and snapping his fingers and taking care of all obstacles and all evil in a moment.
