The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have excused a statement of regret by The Sun for a section by Jeremy Clarkson as "just a PR stunt".

A representative for the Duchess said she had not been reached by the paper to apologize for the segment, wherein Clarkson composed he was "longing for the day when she is made to march bare through the roads of each and every town in England while swarms serenade, 'Disgrace!' and toss pieces of fecal matter at her".
